So here we are in isolation mode with schools cancelled. What.could.go.wrong. The school days run from 8:30 - 3:00 or 6.5 hours with recess and an hour lunch I figure they are teaching a max of four hours of content a day. I have got this. So with a full time job this is how it will play out. 7:00 - 9:00 Campbell and I go through reading and writing while he is fresh. I leave his with a colouring activity and when he is done he is in free time mode. He can colour, cook, create, play in the backyard or watch a movie. He gets an hour of screen time and then we have lunch at noon with a dog walk. I will give him anther activity and then he has free time until work is done. From 3:00 - 6:00 we will finish out the learning for the day. Rinse Repeat.
School Days are going to run seven days a week so we can have smaller learning blocks with consistent learning. I asked my son what he wanted to discuss today and he brought up the totems and long houses. So we drew long houses, looked up on a map the names of the different peoples and will read about them for the week. The first day was Saturday March 28th where we learned about Coast Salish people and totems.
Sunday March 29th. Today we will draw and colour totems.
